For many years I have wanted to own an Old Plantation/Antebellum Home. I found such a House outside of Whitmire SC. I used all the cash I Had to purchase The Property, however The House is in great need of repair.
This House has been vacant many many years and has been vandalized. A 2003 survey done by the Palmetto Conservation Foundation notes that the Old House is believe to have been built between 1860-1870, however; local experts say this House had to be built between 1840 -1850. Its wooden floors, fireplace mantels and staircase have been taken away. The House has a bad roof that has caused some damage to the middle flooring, however, The House is still standing strong. After the Foundation and Roof are secured, cleanup in and around The Old house will begin. It needs the electric, well water, and septic tank functional again. So far as an incentive for each person who makes a donation no matter how small or large their full name will be engraved on a brick that will be apart of a brick wall which will surround the front half of the property. The incentives will increase as progress does. This House would make a nice bed and breakfast getaway, its in the Sumter National Forest. Please help me save this Big piece of History.
The repairs have started..Thanks for all of your donations. Your donations has enabled me to remove all vines, bushes and green growth that was taking over all sides of This Old House. your support has allowed me to purchase some sub flooring witch i used to cover half of the entrance way.
