In place of asking for PTO dues, we are having a Walk-A-Thon to get the school year started with a burst of activity. This fun, healthy event promoting wellness and fitness is one our most important fundraisers. All of the funds raised go to support Oakdale School by providing resources, programming, and funding in conjunction with teachers, support staff and the school principal, Mrs. Hermesch.
This year our goal is for each child to raise $75. This amount will help to offset the cost of school educational events and teacher grants.
We realize that each family has circumstances that limit how much they can give, and appreciate any donation you are comfortable giving. We also understand that some families do not have the time, or resources, to participate in the “door-to-door” fundraisers.
With that in mind no matter the amount, each child that participates in the walk-a-thon and raises any amount of money will receive an Oakdale magnet.
This year because of social distancing we have come up with a fun surprise route for all to walk. Please find the route pictured above. You can walk this route or any route of your choice during the week. Take pictures of the street signs and see if you can spell out OAKDALE.
Here is the route:
Any pictures or short videos (10 seconds) from the walk can be emailed to email@example.com
Can’t donate? Please share. Even a quick share on Facebook can help.
The average share raises $97.
