Update #5

9-12-19. Update:

OK, so we have had a lot of folks out to play since we got the baskets in last week. With the positive feedback and the enthusiasm for the course, we are expanding the campaign to include 11 short tees. We also purchased B position sleeves. Short tee sponsorship will be $250 and cover one teepad, one sign, and B position sleeve. Come on out and see the course. All of you who have sponsored a hole need to get with Jason about your hole info and shirt.

We are putting together something very special. The feedback has been super-positive! It will just get better as we put more work in.

Thanks!
Jason

More Info

North Landing neighborhood in east Cobb GA has taken the initiative to install a disc golf course around our scenic pond.  Land is abundant and a good fit for a course, but funds are limited. North Landing Disc Golf will be a members-only private course.  It will have 11 long tees and 11 short holes.  Eventually, there will be alternate pin positions.

Once established, membership will be $50 per year.  This will give outside members a bag tag to access to the course. Funds will be used to purchase basket targets, signs, and tee pad material.  All the installation and labor will be done by local volunteers.

The initial funding of $5600 covered 12 Prodigy T2 Baskets (one of which is a practice basket), signs, and turf pads in the long position.  $2750 will fund the short holes and sleeves All pads will eventually be turf.  We have stretched the campaign from the original goal of $5600 to fund turf short pads, signs, and alternate basket sleeves as well.

Update #4

Update 9-4-19

Baskets are here, and we are in the process of getting them in to the first position. We have three in so far, three more bases poured, and all the holes dug.

All the baskets will have an alternative position eventually, and we will be having some events where people can come out, play the course, and give us feedback on how they like the course and where they would like to see tee pads and the B pin placements.

Once baskets are in and we have some feedback, we'll start on the tee pads. Last will be the signs and some benches.

We are still about $1000 short of our goal, so please pass the word onto friends that might be interested.

Stay tuned!

Thanks for all your support,
Jason

Update #3

Update 7/26

Hello all... We are steadily approaching our goal. We have raised $4210 of the goal of $5600, and have verbal commitments for about $5200.

I am looking at different tee signs for design ideas and have a good idea what they are going to look like.

We have all of our hole sponsors. The last $800 will be to cover transaction fees, taxes, some signs, and to get going on the short pads.

Some holes have been spoken for. 3,7,8, and 10 are open. The practice basket will have it's own sponsors. I'd like all the holes to have names, so sponsors, start thinking of them.

We'll be announcing a fundraising event soon where folks will be invited out to play a temp version of the course for $5 and give feedback before the layout is finalized. We plan on playing a few rounds with various folks on temp baskets before we order the baskets and place them.

Big shout out to all the
