Legal Fees to Intervene in Federal Case

Legal Fees to Intervene in Federal Case

From No Robertson

V sued the City of LA at the federal level because they didn't get their way. We're raising money to hire an attorney to defend our neighborhood against V's cell phone tower.

Update #2

We raised $2,616.62 in our first round, which ended in early March.

We're now in our FINAL round. We have a big goal: the remainder of the $10,000, which is $7,383.38.

A donor will donate $500 if the amount at the right is $5,000 by June 1!

More Info

In our first round, which ended early March, we raised $2,616.62 (total donations less Fundly transaction fees). This amount was used to pay for the motion to intervene, which is in the process of being decided upon by the judge on the case.

In our FINAL round, we need to raise the remainder—$7,383.38.

The judge recently set deadlines that give us much less time to work on a summary judgment motion briefs, so we need to have our funds ready to go as soon as the judge decides on our initial motion to intervene.

If the judge rules in our favor, our attorney will start on his work immediately, so we will need to pay him for his work.

If the judge does not allow us to intervene, the funds will be refunded to the donors, unless we decide it is worth it to appeal.
