niken became extremely sick and jaundiced on 12/11, and on 12/16 she was diagnosed with what appeared to be idiopathic fatty liver disease followed by severe systemic failure of her immune system and possible lymphoma. This is extremely uncommon for a cat her age and her size, as she was in rather perfect health otherwise. Given her poor prognosis and the extremely high costs that would have incurred (over $4,000 at minimum), we made the incredibly difficult decision to say goodbye to Sheikah on 12/17. She was less than two years old.
At this time, we are left with veterinary and hospital bills amounting to roughly $1,000. This includes the treatment that was administered, overnight hospitalization, abdominal ultrasound, scores of testing and bloodwork, and close to a dozen medications. We are heartbroken that the care that we gave her did not result in a positive outcome. Accounting for prior donations that we have received from our support network, we are humbly asking for $1,000 to ensure we can pay her final bills.
Those of you that have met Sheikah know that she was the brightest bundle of joy ever found in a cat. Our time together was short since we just adopted her in March of this year, but in that short timespan she cemented herself as the best pet that either of us have ever owned.
Your contribution will help with the costs associated with niken's unexpected end-of-life care as a result of her veterinary and hospital bills.
