Update #3

You know how you're only supposed to spend 1/3 of your monthly income on rent?

https://blog.c0debabe.com/2019/03/03/apartment-hunting-fun.html

I should only be spending about $850 but rent in my area for a two bedroom apartment starts around $1700.

Update #2

I dropped the goal to $3,500 because a family member is sending me $500 (not through Fundly). Thank you so much to everyone who is helping either by donating or sharing my fundraiser. I really appreciate it.

Update #1

I've been a stay at home since 2013. That's a huge work gap. I'm struggling to find work. In the meantime, I'm doing a (for the lack of a better name) recertification program that I received a scholarship for. I will be graduating from that in June.

Currently, I am living in the house we own but will eventually be "bought out." As part of the divorce, my Ex will be giving me my half of the equity on the home. I would like to move out into an apartment but on my own terms.

In order to get an apartment, I need the first month's rent and the last month's rent. Rent in the area for a two bedroom apartment start around $1,700. So I'm shooting for $4,000 to help cover the deposits and fees. Anything past that would go to moving costs and debt.

Thank you in advance for your support. Every dollar helps. If you want to donate a large amount and want to be repaid for it when my settlement comes, message me and we can work something out.
