Send Me to "Brain Camp"

From Samantha Lynn

I'm asking for support for my brain healing intensive at the Neurologic Wellness Institute in January. I appreciate any help that you can provide - whether financially or via prayer, love, and encouragement.

Wow. I am completely blown away. Beginning my advocacy journey, I never could have expected the community we've built. I feel so loved and lifted up by the outpouring of support. Like the heavens just opened up and rained blessings down. :)

I have to tell you - When I called my mom to tell her last week that I had met my goal (within 18 hours!), it was a very emotional conversation. You answered not only my prayers, but the prayers of a mother who has been watching her daughter suffer for several years. Hearing the joy in my mother's voice as we shared in the excitement of what God is doing was such a blessing to me. It renewed my hope.

There are so many causes and people in need that could benefit from your financial support, so it means the world to me that you would go out of your way for me. I take your kindness and generosity very seriously and will steward this blessing with honor and intention. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

"Brain camp," here I come!

With Love,
Samantha

More Info

In 2009, I suffered a mTBI (mild traumatic brain injury or concussion). In 2012, I sustained a medical injury. After my concussion, I had very mild and rare symptoms; in 2012, I experienced a severe and immediate uptick in debilitating neurological symptoms as a result of medical injury. These include: disequilibrium/balance issues, vision problems, dizziness, anxiety, migraines, brain fog, and depression. A myriad of other symptoms followed: gut issues, acne, fatigue, hormone imbalance, and more.

Although I saw many practitioners within the allopathic medical model, I received no answers and no relief. Over the last few years, under the guidance of functional practitioners and at the behest of my own research, I have made significant lifestyle changes, including adopting a nutrient-dense diet, opting for more natural personal care products, adjusting habits (ie: sleep, emf exposure), and even included some cleanses/detox. But functional neurology is one thing I have not explored - and I am beginning to consider the possibility that without addressing electrical imbalances (via neuroplasticity), there is only so much that these changes (listed above) can affect.

So what is Functional Neurology? Functional Neurology is a specialty that diagnoses and treats simple and complex neurological conditions through nonsurgical rehabilitation and without pharmaceuticals. Recovery occurs through a process called neuroplasticity. There are many encouraging success stories here:  https://neurologicwellnessinstitute.com/success-stories/#videosuccessstoriesYou can find more info about the Neurologic Wellness Institute on their Instagram: @neurologicwellnessinstitute. I've also included some photos on this page with examples of some of the therapies that they utilize.

In full transparency...Setting up this fund is something I am doing very reticently. Those who know me know that I struggle to ask for help, am very independent, and want to be seen as strong and able to handle it all. But I know that we are not created to be outside of community, and the community I have built on Instagram and in KC is such a huge blessing that I would be foolish to isolate myself from.

If you are able to help support me in any way, it would mean the absolute world to me. And if you are able to contribute financially, this would help to not only ease the financial burden of the last several years, but also ensure that I can go in to this intensive week with minimal stress. I have high hopes for what will happen in January and I invite you to pray joyfully and thank God with me for what He is going to do.

Program details for those who are curious:

The brain intensive I am attending in January is a week-long "adventure" and includes 14 appointments (with the first being an evaluation, and the last being a re-evaluation). The cost for the evaluation is $815, each of my 12 appointments (therapy) are $300, and the re-evaluation is $250. The total cost of care out of pocket is $4,665. They will bill insurance but they are an out of network provider for me and being in January, I won't have contributed anything to my out of network deductible yet. I have noted my goal as $5,000 to cover the processing fees on this site and maybe have a little left over to help with travel.
