Update #12

A remote village in Dhading district, one of the worst hit areas near the earthquake epicenter. The entire village, with 700 houses had collapsed, causing 42 casualties. People were buried under their homes and hundreds were injured and airlifted to hospitals in Kathmandu. Over 4,000 people were, are, sleeping under the sky. Many cattles have died and people have lost all of their grains. No relief material had reached the village except for some thirty bags of rice dropped off by a helicopter.
Two trucks of emergency supplies were delivered by team led by "Nepal Youth Foundation". Our campaign contributed rice (600kg), lentil, flat rice ... etc.

We have also sent additional $1500 (total of $5000 till date) from our campaign.

Update #9

Today's updates - We've sent another $1000 to our team in Nepal. For next couple of days, we will be supplying food & other items from our funds to some of the other volunteer distributions teams working in the area. Due to shortage of medicines and tents, we are struggling to get hold of it. Also, 50%-60% people has left Kathmandu already after the quake. Our goal continues to be to get hold of relief items from our funds and provide people in need as fast as possible.

Update #8

From Team - We purchased NPR. 31000 worth of medicines (NPR. 30100 for medicines which was donated for free health camp headed by Dr. Rabindra Shameer) and we have water purifier which we could not dispatch today. Both medicines and water purifier were very hard to procure because they were out of stock. Usually they had to be ordered from other city, and water purifier usually gets reserved from factory. We waited long time to get our hands on those goods.

We also managed to collaborate with http://www.nepalyouthfoundation.org/ which is heading to upper belt of Gorkha and Sindhupalanchowk where no one has reached so far. Most likely we will not go with them because we will have to stay for day or two with them. They already started collecting resources for the relief.
We aided with rice (20x1240) 24800/-
Beaten Rice (2x1050) 2100/-
Oil (100x160) 11600/-
Salt (2x870) 1740/-
Dal (2x3550) 10650/-
The total worth 50890/-This enough for a village to survive for nearly 20 days. They are still collecting food. We will send updates on it soon. Ladies volunteers from http://jvf-nepal.org/ provided assistance with transportation as most of their volunteers already left for Gorkha. There are tons and tons of villages that still need help. All we can do it support them from here.

Update #6

Today's Updates - We've sent another $1000 (total of $2500 till now) to our team Santosh(Hikikomori), Prakash & Khimanada in Kathmandu. Plan is to rent out bigger vehicle for few days, buy necessary things like food, medial supplies etc. and distribute. We may also get some paid labour to build up bigger team as timely response is key. Also some words from Santosh to motivate all of us further - "there are three categories of people. inconvenienced, affected, and devastated. i am just inconvenienced from the earthquake. I saw people were digging food from their house .. full of mud. Worst part is that those guys have only one crop in a year. relying on irrigation from rain. we should have bought more food."
