Because we are already doing the community protection work that our land project intended, we are turning this relief fund into a fundraiser to get NATIVEWOMANSHARE off the ground. NATIVEWOMANSHARE reunites Indigenous and POC women and two-spirit with the land for ongoing land remediation and land care. Please help us meet our goal and continue to engage in long-term mutual aid for the Rogue Valley.

..........

A lot has changed in the last week as we move to recover from the devastating wildfires that hit the Rogue Valley, OR.

Not only have we been wrapped up in direct community aid who local folks who are still evacuated, displaced or who have lost everything, as well as making sure that hundreds of evacuees, volunteers and firefighters are fed, your donations have been going to the purchase of air filters, air purifiers, masks, and the basic costs of maintaining our home as an evacuation shelter.

Given the emergency circumstances that we are responding to, we feel like this is the right time and place to announce the birth of our project NATIVEWOMANSHARE and its intention to serve the racial and environmental justice needs of the Rogue Valley and Pacific Northwest communities. NATIVEWOMANSHARE will be a landback project for diverse Indigenous and BIPOC women and Two-Spirit to reclaim the land and their ancient lifeways in harmony with it.

NATIVEWOMANSHARE will be a space for:

Indigenous women, women of color and Two-Spirit to find community & belonging;

a space for teaching and sharing Indigenous land stewardship to fend off the effects of hundreds of years of improper forest management and protect our valley from Climate Change;

a space for Tribal elders sharing wisdom directly with Indigenous descendents;

a space for BIPOC art, healing in nature and decolonizing;

a space for BIPOC food growing and food sovereignty for the people  of our valley in the ways of the original mother land stewards;

a space for native foods, plants and medicines to be stewarded and preserved;

and a model for land and social justice for the rest of our bioregion.

We feel strongly that the way forward includes creating safe-space for bringing back ancestral lifeways while addressing Racial Justice and Climate Justice simultaneously in the Pacific Northwest.

Help us create a community space for Indigenous and Womxn of Color and Two-Spirit to reunite with the land, with clear air, with clean water, and with each other, and help lead us from the peril of current wildfires.

Your donations will:

help us place the down payment for this land project, help us organize our 501c3, help us become a hub for our extensive network of Indigenous and BIPOC across the PNW, help us begin to organize teachers and programming in Indigenous Land Stewardship and Traditional Ecological Knowledge with nearby Oregon and California Tribes, and...

Help us continue to house wildfire evacuees and provide mutual aid ongoingly to the rest of Southern Oregon and Northern California where fire has become a yearly catastrophe.
