This sweet 9 year old kitty adopted me and my daughter five years ago when we went to our local SPCA. Demi has been very healthy but had an unfortunate accident where his tail got caught in the bathroom door last week and the results have been financially catastrophic. It occured in the morning as I was getting ready for work, I checked him out after the giant yelp and he seemed okay but when I got home from work that evening, he had chewed the tip of his tail down to expose the bone. I immediately took him to the emergency Vet. There they examined it, provided pain meds, e-collar stating that he would need to get the tip amuptated due to the nature of the injury and how the tail is difficult to heal. That bill was $200 which I paid on a credit card.Since it was New Years weekend, I had to wait until Monday, January 2 to take him to my local vet. Yes, he would need the tip of his tail amputated. The cost $905. They do not provide payment plans so I paid $500 on my credit card and the balance from my meager savings (which is now wiped out).He has had the e-collar on the entire time but yesterday managed to get a little bit of the tip of his tail and it started to bleed some. I took him back to the vet immediately. It wasn't bad and had stopped bleeding. They put some suture glue on it and they were kind enough not to charge me. Late last night, he bit through quite a bit and it was bleeding bad. This morning, more so. I just took him back to the vet. The bone is exposed again. So now more stitches, pain meds, and antibiotic. They are being kind enough not to charge me for office visit and the like. The bill is still $262 and that is where I need your help!I'm tapped out and I cannot afford to take on any more debt. I am 43, a single Mom, only working part time as I have returned to school.I was trying to add photos of his injury but the photo uplink isn't allowing me to crop to show. I am more than happy to provide copies of the bills and email the photos of the injured area.I am very proud and I have never asked for charity but I am desperate! Thank you for considering!
