Update #2

We got it done!

and there is so much more to come.

Stay tuned to our facebook page for all of the updates, but here is the latest:

Education and Communication Breakdown in Arizona

This is an update on who is shutting down cannabis education in Arizona, and who is not.

If you care about this issue, please reach out to those responsible and tell them your story. Always educate kindly.
Shouting and emotion gets us nowhere. Let them know how important this is to you or someone you love.

:)
-A big thank you to 3TV/CBS news for covering our demonstration on Monday.
They were the only group of media who contacted us.

:(
Yavapai College has officially rejected my submission.
I have my reviews from the class. They are all excellent, and most of my students seemed to enjoy the class and ask for more. They told me they would not have me in the Fall because it was during a campaign...so I submitted for Spring, and you can see the email below. I did email back a short note saying this was a shame, and that so many benefited. I have asked who was in charge of the decision, and I will let you know asap. From past experience, it was likely the team at Matforce. They have trolled other venues prior to my events.

:)
- I am proud and happy to say the Osher Lifelong Learning Program (OLLI) at University of Arizona is having me back. They did not want the class during the election because they felt it was political, but they have allowed my most recent submission and I will be at the North West location in March.

:)
-RISE Adult learning at Rio Salado in Surprise is having two courses again this Spring.

:)
-Recreation Centers of Sun City is having me back next semester.

Overall, the response has been very positive. I get all of my student responses mailed to me, and they continue to overwhelm and propel me.

ASU Lifelong Learning says they have the course already, and their teachers are teaching this. I hope it is on the schedule- I haven't checked. Speaking of ASU...

:(
-The Walter Cronkite School of Journalism's HOOKED aired last night. I hope you shared your reaction:
https://cronkitenews.azpbs.org/hookedrx//hooked-rx-share-your-reaction/
I was pleased to see they pressed "like" on my press release :) which I posted on their page last week. However, there was no response on their twitter comments for MomForce AZ as there had been for every other person who responded. I have written to the producers of HOOKED to tell them how we can reduce use by over 50%. I hope to hear from them soon, or at least cue up their curiosity. Please be sure to share your story with them.
If you didn't watch- it was basically the same story we hear every day. Some innocent person gets hooked on heroin thanks to the prescription drugs the doctor gave them. They gave no alternatives, no real advice, just told the sad story. At least they let people know they are not alone.

:(
- Governor Doug Ducey, Bill Montgomery, Sheila Polk, and other lawmakers and lawmen who will not face facts and protect these drug pushers have this blood on their hands.
These drugs and drug pushers are killing our neighbors.
This is killing our kids- and our lawmakers took their money and protected them in the last election.
The opioid epidemic is "Heartbreaking"?, Doug Ducey?
What is HEARTBREAKING is that our lawmakers do not protect their citizens but rather play a game of who gets what while our friends family and neighbors SUFFER.
Search your souls, Arizona Lawmakers, and Legalize Cannabis through our state legislature immediately.

?
- I have called The Phoenix Division of the DEA, and have sent a short, fact-filled email for to them to consider. They are also on twitter and they have an office here in town.
Special Agent Douglas Coleman is the gentleman in the HOOKED show last night.
He seems as if he genuinely wants to help. Maybe he doesn't understand this information yet. Please reach out to him and tell him your story. https://www.dea.gov/divisions/phx/phx.shtml

:(
- I had a chance to catch a moment with Arizona Senator David Farnsworth at the capitol. We met when he was helping facilitate a Matforce No on 205 meeting in Mesa last October. He and I get along rather well, and I believe he is taking his stand for the right reasons. I asked him if I could have 15 in his office to show him some new information, now that this decision is in his hands. He told me he would be happy to speak with me on any other issues at any time, but not this one. I gave him my information sheet and told him I pray he will read it, because it is that important to that many people. Some of these folks have an absolute roadblock when it comes to cannabis education, but I believe state representatives do have an obligation to represent the people. Will Sen. Farnsworth wait until the epidemic affects someone he loves? I hope and pray he and others will see the light, and the error of prohibition. Contact Sen. Farnsworth and tell him your story http://www.azleg.gov/MembersPage.asp?Member_ID=117&Legislature=%2051&Session_ID=%20110&SortBy=Sponsor

:)
- The Franciscan Renewal Center is a welcoming venue for all groups to rent rooms and have a peaceful place to meet. They welcome our education, and we are blessed with the space.
Look for another meeting there soon!

:)
-The All Saints of the Desert Episcopal Church is having us back again on January 28th to educate citizens in Sun City. Our heartfelt thanks to these good people for having us back time and time again. We are blessed with their understanding and acceptance.

Thanks to all who help us propel this mission.

Update #1

Join us!
This Monday, January 9th as we take a stand for cannabis, and Against the opioid epidemic.

January 9th is Opening Day at the Arizona State Capitol.

Cannabis is reducing opioid use by as much as 64%, in recent studies.
http://www.jpain.org/article/S1526-5900(16)00567-8/abstract

Partnership for a Drug Free America reports how this is working in Massachusetts, one of the states where cannabis became legal in the last election.
http://www.drugfree.org/news-service/opioid-addiction-treated-medical-marijuana-massachusetts/

Arizona has an opioid epidemic, and MATFORCE (our state anti-drug group) is teaming up with the DEA and other small state entities to hold a conference on the subject, also to be held on January 9th.
http://www.matforce.org/?p=4307

MATFORCE fought tooth and nail against legal cannabis, even though they know it can help stop the deaths and addiction of opioid use. They have been misleading our state about the substance for years.
One head of MATFORCE, Yavapai County Attorney Sheila Polk, stated she was "proud" to fund their war on cannabis with half a million dollars from a drug company that makes the most deadly opioids available, INSYS. This company's employees were recently arrested.
http://fortune.com/2016/12/08/insys-execs-charged-bribing-doctors-fentanyl/
Ms. Polk has also confirmed she is working to reverse Arizona's medical marijuana program.

About 100,000 Arizonans have a medical card, and most qualified under chronic pain. These people are replacing opioid pain medication with medical cannabis.
When we have less pills in our medicine cabinets, less diversion takes place. Too many of these pain pills are ending up in the hands of our young people who use, sell, and die from them.
Arizona loses ten kids every month to opioid overdose, and no one has ever died from consuming cannabis.

Rep. Mark Cardenas has introduced a measure to legalize cannabis through the State Legislature.
Let's show our support for this and talk to some of our lawmakers about cannabis.

We will have plenty of opportunities to share our stories and educate the media as well.

Be sure to dress to impress.
WEAR RED to say you Stand Against the Opioid Epidemic and For a natural, non toxic alternative.

We are pleased to welcome our friends at Women Grow and we encourage ladies to join us for some group photos (we are shooting for between 9-10am).

*We are doing a special project and we need some reliable volunteers.
If you would like to participate, please private message for details.*

To make this and other upcoming events happen, it takes precious resources. Every dollar of your donations help us purchase fliers, run ads, and rent rooms.

Please help if you can with your kind donation today!
