Mission: Remission
My name is Dr. Lisa Price and many of you know of my work with cancer patients and nutrition during conventional cancer treatment. I’ve written three books on the subject (Demos Health Publishing, Inc.) and I am passionate about getting correct and the most helpful information to my patients. I am also passionate about them having access to organic whole foods during treatment.
Science backs that food and nutrition can affect cancer outcome, remission; side effects during treatment and quality of life. Currently three problems exist that this project will tackle:
- Curated science-based information on nutrition during conventional cancer treatment and beyond for patients, and their support groups and providers. Too many sites promote gimmicks and dangerous, erroneous information
- Dispel of myths that might be costly or even dangerous to patients during treatment and beyond
- Access to whole food, organic products for patients via partnership building with progressive companies on the West Coast. The project will seek to create access to organic produce and other foods shipped directly to cancer patients’ homes
+ Production of 8 high quality videos for cancer patients, their family, friends; and for oncologists and cancer health care teams
The videos will provide:
+ The best and safest nutrition information which will affect quality of life and possibly outcome
+ Dispel dangerous myths, and those that may be very costly to cancer patients as well
+ Include a helpful recipe plus nutrition information on foods used
The project will build partnerships that will:
+ Provide access of organic produce to cancer patients and their care givers at low to no cost during treatment.
We can all help cancer patients. Because I have the access, expertise and relationships, I’m asking you to help me get it started. You as a contributor are also my co-creator and science advocate for patients. You will be at the forefront of our piece of cancer survivorship. Production and access costs for this project will be $6,518.
