Given the explosion that occurred on August 4th in Beirut, MBLB is purchasing basic furniture and necessary materials to rebuild the hundreds of thousands of homes which have been destroyed
Min Beib La Beib (MBLB) was officially launched on December 19, 2019. However, the idea of this project came about in September, when the house of one of Ashghalouna’s widows was burnt to the ground. We used social media to gather furniture and other necessities for the underprivileged family, giving birth to our project.
MBLB collects both used and unused furniture, as well as other necessary items, and donates them to needy families. The purpose of this nonprofit is first and foremost to deliver the essentials to underprivileged families, after visiting them and evaluating their needs. Given the explosion that occurred on August 4th, MBLB is accepting donations to purchase brand new furniture seeing as the demand for basic furniture has dramatically increased given that hundreds of thousands of homes, already living below the poverty line, have been destroyed.
Whenever we are able to, MBLB provides work to underprivileged individuals. Low skilled workers are hired to drive the delivery truck and help unload the items. Painters are hired for refurbishing and carpenters are paid to fix and install the items in the homes.
MBLB runs on a small budget. We do not pay rent for a warehouse or office space. We use every penny donated to pay our underprivileged workers and provide for our MBLB families—whether it be in the form of furnishings, food boxes or supermarket coupons.
