I'm raising money for Pathways to Housing DC, a D.C. non-profit that provides home, health and hope to more than 3,000 individuals who are experiencing or at risk for homelessness.
For my entire professional career—now over 31 years—I have poverty, disability civil rights lawyer. Throughout that time—in court cases, Congressional testimony, law review articles, media appearances speaking engagements—I have distilled this central message: No one succeeds in life without a place to call home. A place where you can safely close your eyes at night, and dream about what you want to achieve. A place to store your important belongings. A place that connects you to neighbors, and a haven to which you can return when you want to be alone.
