We at the Mesopotamia Memorial and Historical Association want to share with you some exciting plans for the renovation of our community meeting house and museum purchased November 17, 1982:    formerly a church (1817 Presbyterian – 1846 Universalist/Spiritualist), grade school (1823-24), Town House (Trustees 1873), roller rink, feed store and Grange (1918).  The Museum is on the  National Registry of Historic Buildings in the Commons of Mesopotamia.  We are shaking off years of neglect with optimism for the future of all Mesopotamia residents and surrounding townships.  We hope after reviewing our modest goals, you would consider donating to our grassroots organization.  Please contact the Committee 330-550-0285, and we would be glad to handle all details or any questions.  Of course, all gifts are tax deductible.

Our goal is two fold:  First to preserve history of our settlement and recognize the pioneers who contributed to our the Western Reserve.  Secondly, the renovation of our building  will continue to create  a community center with our purpose of establishing a Senior Center in Mespo, promote fund raising, lunches and tours, programs and volunteerism by youth groups,  activities for the community,  educational outreach and lectures, and the ability to preserve artifacts of the past.

Those persons who contribute $500 or more will be honored by having their names inscribed on a plaque in a special place in our meeting house.   You may also want to offer your gift in memory of a loved one.  If you chose to be a benefactor for the total funds for the listed phases of work, you will be accorded a special place in our hearts plus a permanent plaque that will be constructed into the building itself an in appropriate place.

Thank you for your support and we look forward to hearing from you, Sincerely,

Mesopotamia Memorial and Historical Association Committee Members.

Our community encompasses a diversified population in which our organization has been an extension of help and service relying on our ability to be self-supporting.  Our renovation will allow us to once again be an essential part of our community.  Our funds are low but the need is great.  We appreciate your consideration and help with our project.
