From Sean Perry

We are raising money for 2019-2020 school year. Mental Health supports for students has been pulled from schools and they can no longer support their struggling population. Help us help them.

Everyday children in our communities are struggling with mental health related issues. The systems that are in place are old and out dated. In fact, if your child is struggling and the school needed an assessment, it would take up to 3- 4 months worth of "data" before they would even have your child assessed.

We R H.O.P.E. is able to cut the red tape and start supporting children who are struggling right away. The problem is that funding is being cut and moved around for things that are not mental health related. How can a child ever learn and access their skills if they are not mentally healthy? It's time to take a stand and treat mental health the same way we do physical health! If a child has a fever or the flue we don't send them to school asking them to learn because we know they need to see a doctor so they can get better, feel better and access the skills the need to learn. Well... mental health is the same. When a child is anxious, depressed, suicidal, sad, or has intrusive thoughts, they don't feel well and can not access the skills needed to learn properly.

We can no longer push this issue to the side. Help us take a stand. Help us support children that would not otherwise be able to get the support they need. Help us fight back against those who say that kids just need to tough it out and most of all, help us change a culture of children who have lost hope and think there is no way out of mental illness.
