Discrimination, prejudice, denial of civil and human rights, harassment and family rejection are still tragically common for LGBTQ+ individuals. These negative experiences, combined with a lack of access to culturally-affirming and informed mental health care, result in troubling outcomes for LGBTQ+ people including an increase in the use of harmful substances, anxiety, depression and even suicide.

To address the disproportionate mental health burden LGBTQ+ individuals face, Envision:You was founded in 2018. Envision:You is a statewide, multi-year public health and advocacy initiative that addresses the impact mental health and substance use disorders have on Colorado’s LGBTQ+ community.

To coincide with Mental Health Awareness Month in May, we are launching our COVID-19 Behavioral Health Support Program. This effort will connect individuals who have been impacted by the pandemic to trained mental health clinicians. Isolation can be exceedingly difficult and dangerous for people with a mental health condition. Moreover, people have been unable to keep their regular appointments and routines due to the restrictions in place. It is also true that many LGBTQ+ people are employed in sectors that have been heavily impacted by the COVID-19 crisis resulting in the loss of health insurance among other consequences. We believe the COVID-19 Behavioral Health Support program will help address the community's urgent mental and emotional concerns. Your donation will allow us to expand this program to more people.

Your gift of any size makes a difference! We are grateful for your support.
