I am raising mental health awareness for my dad. If you have any extra bottles to donate, please contact Darbie Hauser @ 403-304-6103 or donate to the attached link.
My dad was a family man his whole life, even to this day he would say there is nothing he loved more than his daughters. My dad loved sports. He loved showing up to every sporting event. He loved being apart of them. He was the father everyone wanted. He would play ball, he would coach ball, and would fill in when the other parents would bail. He was the type of man that would show up, especially when no one else wanted to.
The sad truth is that none of us could have seen his hardships as his mental illness had progressed. He became worse over the years. We couldn't be the people to save him. Mental illness should be regulated more than it is. This fundraiser is about creating a support system for people who don't have a solid support system. All donations will go towards the Canadian Mental Health Society. Although it may be small, every donation makes a difference.
Mental illness does not discriminate. It will take the ideal father, brother, and best-friend, and turn them into someone you no longer recognize. Now is the time to step up and make the difference. My Dad's death will mean something and each donation is a push in the right direction for mental health awareness.
