About Me

I have been in Real Estate for 12 years, and Law Enforcement for 4. I have always been drawn to jobs and acts of giving back and this will be my greatest one yet. I have never been out of the country, and I got my passport to give me just this opportunity to join Habitat for Humanity on one of their global builds. I can sip Mai Tais on an island but this is how I choose to spend my vacation time. I have been fortunate to have a family and shelter and a place to call home my whole life, it's a basic human right way too many people around the world live without. I crave being immersed in nature and Nepal promises to deliver an experience in nature unparalleled to anything I've ever experienced. To be able to travel, be in nature, get to know another culture, bring help and sustainability to their region, get my hands dirty, and give my blood sweat and tears to a family whose daily struggle is beyond my wildest nightmares is what I consider living MY best life. When I'm not working or volunteering I am hiking with my French Bulldog, or around a dinner table with family and friends. "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." - Helen Keller

More Info

In the wake of the earthquakes in Nepal, we need to work together more than ever to provide pathways to permanence for the families affected. We invite you to join our team in partnering with disaster-affected families as they begin their recovery of their lives and livelihoods in their communities. Your donation will help Habitat build more permanent homes sooner.

Habitat’s Disaster Work in Nepal

Habitat for Humanity plans to help 20,000 families in cooperation with the government of Nepal and humanitarian agency partners. With the help of partners and volunteers, Habitat will remove rubble, distribute emergency shelter kits, and build transitional and permanent shelters.

Global Village is Habitat for Humanity’s international volunteer program. Teams travel to over 40 countries to work alongside communities, build housing solutions, and experience local culture. Our goal is to change the lives of the people we serve, as well as the lives of the volunteers.

About Habitat for Humanity International

Driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent place to live, Habitat for Humanity began in 1976 as a grassroots effort on a community farm in southern Georgia. The housing organization has since grown to become a leading global nonprofit working in more than 1,300 communities throughout the U.S. and in more than 70 countries. Families and individuals in need of a hand up partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Through financial support, volunteering or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves. Through shelter, we empower. To learn more, visit habitat.org.
