Through the power of Zumba, the University of Chicago MEDLIFE Chapter is hosting the Dance for LIFE (Low Income Families Everywhere) Zumbathon to raise money and awareness for global health care in a fun and fitness-friendly way. This year, all money raised will go to Tanzania, where more than 30% of families live in extreme poverty. Teams of 4 can sign up, raise money, & Zumba for 3 hours for a great cause.
Come join the UChicago and Hyde Park communities to shake and shimmy in our journey to improve global health care and eradicate poverty in Tanzania!
How Your Donations Help:
$10 provides primary care to 5 people in Tanzania
$25 provides primary care to 50 people in Tanzania
$50 provides primary care to 100 people in Tanzania.
(For example, $50 allows 100 women in Tanzania to get treated for cervical cancer.)
**All GOLD donors will be recognized at the event and on our page!**
WHAT IS MEDLIFE?
Our mission is to help families achieve greater freedom from the constraints of poverty, empowering them to live healthier lives. Our patients did not choose to be poor, but they have chosen to strive toward a better life; MEDLIFE stands beside them in this pursuit. We aim to achieve this goal through partnering with motivated individuals in poor communities working to improve their access to MEDs: Medicine, Education and community Development. MEDLIFE believes access to quality healthcare is a basic human right. To this end, we commit our time, resources, knowledge and hope to bring Medicine, Education and Development to Low Income Families Everywhere.
WHAT DO WE DO?
MEDLIFE believes that in order to improve the overall health and welfare of families and communities in need, a comprehensive approach is needed. With this goal in mind, MEDLIFE seeks to deliver aid through three broad avenues: Medicine, Education, and Development.
