Update #2

Lily passed away on July 26, 2019, at St. Luke's Medical Center in Manila, surrounded by her loving husband and children. She will be laid to rest in Tanjay, Negros Oriental, this Thursday, August 8, 2019.

Unfortunately, the need for funds remains. All current donations will immediately go towards the funeral costs and any outstanding medical bills. However, as any who have been following this long story will be aware, Yas, Lily's husband, is still in dire need of a kidney transplant. As such, we will be continuing this campaign until it's scheduled end, and all further funds will go towards the medical bills for his future operation and recovery.

On behalf of my family, and Lily herself, I would like to thank everyone again for all their love and support.

More Info

Hello. Some of you may remember a similar fundraiser last year. This one is connected to the original campaign. Just a quick update for everyone:Currently, Lily is checked in to St. Luke's Medical Center with pneumonia, her second bout in two weeks. She and Yas were able to cover the costs of her earlier stay, which totaled around Php200 thousand. This second stay, however, is proving to be more demanding, both medically and financially. As of this writing, the current bill stands at Php235 thousand, and will only continue to rise by the hour. Additionally, Lily's doctors will be needing to keep her under their care for some time: There are plans for her to undergo another round of chemotherapy. The drug they will be issuing this time is targeted for lung metastases. Lily and Yas are hoping this will help give her that extra bit of time to get the kids ready and tie up lose ends if not a long-term cure. However, she cannot start chemo until her pneumonia clears.Earlier this year, Yas was hospitalized at the Silliman University Medical Center in Dumaguete for multiple complications. He has recovered, but the lengthy hospital stay forced them to dip into the funds raised during the first run of this campaign. Less than half of the original closing amount remains, and a major operation still lies ahead. The three eldest of the Horde-lings are currently in Dumaguete, attending Senior and Junior High at Silliman University. The other two remain in Manila to finish up Middle School and will be joining their siblings in the years to come. In the meantime, however, the amazing feats of logistical acrobatics needed to maintain two households separated by both land and ocean remain par for the course for Lily and Yas.Any amount raised by this campaign will go to Lily's current hospital bill at St. Luke's, and towards her upcoming round of chemotherapy. How much both of these will ultimately cost is currently unknown, although the total is expected to be quite significant. We are all beyond grateful for the support that everyone gave to the last run of this campaign. We wish circumstances would have been better, but we are still constantly amazed and encouraged by the constant outpouring of love showered by friends, family, and strangers upon this remarkable family. For some reason, Paypal does not want people in Guam to use their platform to receive donations right now, so we are trying something new.
