Sometimes people desperately want to keep their pets, but are temporarily unable to pay for urgent or unexpected medical care. Staying with the family who knows and loves them is usually the best outcome for the pet as well. At Pet Tribe, we believe that in order to help pets, we have to help people. We also know that pets recover better at home than in a shelter, so we try to keep pets and their people together. That's why, when a distraught mother contacted us because her daughter's beloved dog Blue was in a bind, we didn't hesitate to help. A neighbor claimed that Blue had bitten him, even though Blue had been secure in his own backyard at the time the bite happened. . . this was clearly a case of mistaken identity, but a rabies quarantine was still required. Blue's family was told that if they couldn't afford the rabies quarantine, Blue would be "euthanized" so that his head could be sent off for rabies testing. They couldn't afford a rabies quarantine and they were desperate for help. That's when Pet Tribe stepped in. We asked the family to call around and find the cheapest quarantine they could and we promised to pay for it. Ten days and $220 later, Blue was cleared from quarantine and took his Freedom Ride back home to the family who loves him.

Sometimes a pet doesn't have a family to pay for medical care. That was the case of Winifred. This sweet but shy kitty was found by a gentleman who noticed that she was injured. He brought her to us because he knew that we would help and we did. It turns out that Winifred had a very old femoral break that had healed improperly. Unfortunately, Winifred's leg had to be amputated, but that hasn't slowed her down one bit! She jumps around on three legs as if she were born that way! Now she is in foster waiting for her forever home, and she will have just as much time as she needs.

Help us help people like Blue's family keep their pets out of the shelter. Help us help lost pets like Winifred stay out of shelters. Sick and injured pets need to be in homes to recover, not in shelters. Your support will help us continue to say "yes" to families like Blue's. Your support will help us continue to save pets like Winifred.

Our partner veterinarians all provide their services at great discount to Pet Tribe. Please tell them you appreciate their support.
