UPDATE 3/23/2020 COVID-19:
First and foremost, my family and I want to thank those who have donated and supported our cause thus far. We cannot begin to express our gratitude and are so thankful for such supporting, giving and kind people in our lives.
Due to updated guidelines from the Centers for Disease and Prevention (CDC) and Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) to limit gatherings to fewer than 50 people and to observe social distancing (up to 6 feet a part between event participants), we announce the postponement of our grandmother’s funeral service (originally scheduled for April 4-5, 2020 at St Paul Funeral Home LLC).
St Paul Funeral Home will be closing its doors to ensure the safety of our community in limiting potential community spread of the novel coronavirus.
My family and I are also committed to making sure we are doing our part in keeping our community safe and stand with the decision to postpone our beloved grandmother’s service. Hmong funerals bring in family from all over and we want to be able to celebrate her life with everyone, near and far.
At this time, we have not heard when St Paul Funeral Home will reopen or been given the okay to host gatherings of more than 50 attendees so we do apologize for not having a rescheduled date. We will do our best to keep you all posted on when we have decided on a new date for our grandmother’s service.
With that said, we will be extending our deadline for donations thru May 29th, 2020. We will make an announcement with an updated deadline to donate should the funeral take place before then.
It is truly an unprecedented time we live in now. We want to apologize for the sudden change and to also thank you all for your understanding.
Please feel free to reach out to my family and I with any questions or concerns.
It is with great sadness that my family and I announce the passing of our grandmother, Mai Thao. Mai passed early Friday, February 21st. Mai was a mother and grandmother and leaves behind two sons and sixteen grandchildren. We are devastated by our loss. Our grandmother raised us, fed us and loved us with every ounce of her heart. She will be missed greatly.
We are raising money to cover the costs of the funeral and memorial services for Mai as this passing was completely unexpected. Our grandfather left us in December of 2019 and we are still grieving and recovering from his loss. As with our grandfather, we want to give our grandmother the memorial she deserves to honor her memory and say our last goodbyes.
Mai’s service will be held at St Paul Funeral Home LLC 199 Plato Blvd, Saint Paul, MN 55107 on April 4-5, 2020.
Our goal is to secure $10,000 by April 4th, 2020. Please consider donating, as any amount will truly help our family during this difficult time.
Thank you so much for your consideration,
