Lucy is a dear friend and dedicated employee serving those in need. She was caught in last week's storm, had to abandon her car as water came up to her waist, then walk two miles in rain to find her home damaged too.
Storm Ida swiftly hit NJ last Wed., 9/1/21. In a short amount of time, severe rain caused tremendous peril and damage to many. My stomach dropped when I heard that Lucy left the long term care facility where she works just over an hour after I did. She had a short drive home though the rainfall had surprisingly kicked into high gear by then. Many of us had no idea we'd experience such intensity. There were no warnings around the level of severity and flooding we experienced. On her drive home, water on the roadway engulfed her car and rose to her waist level. She was able to get out but had to abandon the vehicle and walk two miles home only to find her basement flooded. I am so grateful she survived and is okay though she is now without transportation. Lucy does so much for so many and has a heart of gold. Please help me help her in her time of need. Thanks so much in advance.
