Das Erdbeben der Stärke 7.0 hat Lombok & die Gilis völlig zerstört. Unsere Freunde und deren Familien von Lombok haben alles verloren! BITTE HELFT UNS IHNEN ZU HELFEN <3
It’s been 4 days since the serious 7.0 earthquake hit Lombok and the Gili Islands. The islands got destroyed and there were lots of human casualties.
At the time of the first tremor we - Nadine and I - were on Gili Trawangan. We just finished dinner at the night market when the ground started shaking. The moment a two-story building collapsed 4 meters behind us, was the very moment we realised its a life threatening situation. And that was when our nightmare just started. The things we’ve seen, heard and felt within the first 2 days were an absolute shocking. We spent 2 days camping without running water, power or food. Luckily, we were evacuated after all.
However, the locals have taken a harder hit as most would travel daily from their homes in the north of Lombok, the epicentre of the quake. They lost their homes and live in camps in the hills without access to food and clean water.
Our friends from the Broken Compass - Bonnie, Jon etc. - do everything they can to help stranded families. They are on the ground on Lombok supplying the camp sites with food, water, clothes and medicine - BUT WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT TO REALLY MAKE AN IMPACT!
Our priority is to help local communities to get back on their feet. The donated money will be withdrawn by Jon Braithwaite (Owner and Manager of the Broken Compass) and used and distributed wisely to purchase food, water and needed supplies. The donation process will be as transparent as just possible and we will keep you updated on every step we take during these difficult times.
Since the Broken Compass team is doing everything they can to support local families on the ground without internet connection or phone reception, please contact me under - email@example.com - for any further information - queries, questions or concerns.PLEASE HELP & DONATE! <3
