Living to hike

 I almost died when I was sixteen. 

I spent a lot of time not living my life because I was restlessly fighting to keep it. A lot of that time was wasted away in a small hospital room inside Tucson Medical Center Children’s Unit and as you can imagine, I missed out on a lot of things. But the good news is, I survived and I am here now to share my journey with you.

I am hiking this mountain to not only celebrate my 30th birthday but to celebrate the things that almost killed me. My goal is to give back to the place that gave me so much, which is I am dedicating this hike to the Tucson Medical Center Children’s Unit. I owe it to all the relentless doctors, nurses and entire staff for fighting alongside me to give me a second chance at living life. 

I know that I can’t conquer this challenge alone, which is why I am turning to my community for help in reaching my goals through donations and sponsorships. All funding will go towards making this vision a reality and I Thank-you in advance for helping me share my true appreciation for TMC in giving me a healthy and happy life.
