Being in recovery for over a year now! I’m looking to stabilize my financial freedom If I could ask a stranger for $5 to get a beer I should be able aska stranger for $5 while in recovery to pay for my past misfortunes.
I have gone 20 years in a complete foggy haze from alcohol. Drank away anything I owned, friends I had, and lost the faith of family.
In October of 2018 I was blacked out drunk and incoherently made a phone call to my mom saying that I could not live this life anymore, with that said I scared her to death with that statement but I only meant that the life I was in just couldn’t go on.
I entered treatment to get sober and some footing underneath what I had created, being extremely hard, scared and miserable, I relapsed while in treatment. There was no one to blame but myself. I’m stubborn and hard headed but those two things are what lead me back into treatment, steadied the course and finished. Not without a lot of ups and downs. Tho I made it! I’m just over a year sober and living in recovery.
In addiction you drain your credit, max out credit cards, get payday loans, overdraft your checking account. Never pay your loans. Burn every bridge possible. Sad reality to face in recovery because you can’t hardly get where with bad credit. My current credit score is 546 and it’s a work in progress.
With that said, here I am, looking for your generosity and help in achieving a step ahead. Catching up on old and current bills.
If I could ask a stranger for $5 to get a beer I need to swallow my pride and ask a stranger for $5 while in recovery to pay for my past misfortunes.
This is worthy cause to donate to by helping me you’ll be helping others who are struggling with addiction and/or living in recovery. The 12th step is about giving back to the program. And that’s what I intend to do.
