Navid is raising money to bring literacy support to schools in Nigeria and Ghana. $2500 brings an assessment kit, data, and a classroom library to a school.
In 2019, I joined my mom on a trip to Nigeria and Ghana to deliver literacy assessments. Since then, I've learned that most schools lack both computers and good books to read. Basically, they don't have the money for either. Unfortunately, students who struggle with reading are more likely to drop out of school or be forced into childhood marriage. Many schools come to my mother asking for support, but lack the resources for long-term change. For $2500, I can provide a literacy screen kit, computer, and books to a school. So far, we have been able to raise funding for two schools.
