More Info

Team Martine are friends and family of Martine Bellocq. This time last year Martine was fighting for her life with over 60% of her body severely burned from her attempt to rescue her horse during the Lilac fires in Bonsall. She now bravely faces her recovery journey.

The Burn Institute reached out and offered support for Martine's family within hours of the accident allowing them to stay at The Bannister Family House (home away from home for families of patients undergoing long-term care). They have also helped us get necessary equipment to improve Martine's quality of life through their Change a Life Grant program.

Please help us support The Burn Institute of San Diego so they can continue to help other burn survivors and their families through the great work they do!

Join Us for the 5th Annual Burn Run 5K to benefit the Burn Institute!

Date: Saturday, February 2, 2019

Location: De Anza Cove Park in Mission Bay, 3000 N. Mission Bay Dr., San Diego, CA 92109

Check In: 7:15am, Burn Run 5K Start: 8:00am

Help the Burn Institute promote Burn Awareness Week and raise funds to support burn prevention education and burn survivor support programs by running or walking in the Burn Run 5K. Among children aged 4 and under, scald injuries are most prevalent burn injury. Scald injuries are painful and require prolonged treatment. They may result in lifelong scarring and even death. Prevention of scalds is always preferable to treatment and can be accomplished through simple changes in behavior and the home environment. Safety tips and information will be available to all participants at the Burn Run. With your help we prevent burns and save lives!

The Burn Run 5K will showcase local community partners including our local fire service. Bring your family and friends! We love pets but please leave them at home as they are not permitted at this event.

Registration is $30 for adults and $15 for children ages 5-17. Children age 4 and under are free. Burn Survivors and their immediate family members can sign up to participate in the 5K for FREE! Receive a commemorative Burn Run t-shirt when you fundraise $50 or more! Participants receive a finisher medal!

Please note that shirt sizes and quantities cannot be guaranteed if you register or submit your shirt size after January 14, 2019. T-shirts will also be available for purchase at the event while quantities last.
