Lets do a barn raising and call it Phoenix Rising!

From Deleted User

This was once a beautiful working horse farm. Hard times have fallen upon the farm and it needs help. My dream is to become the voice of Blue Star (Rising Phoenix) and create my own one-of-a-kind equestrian program.

You can also donate to our feed store, our hay delivery people, or drop off donations. We also need on-site volunteers to assist in cleaning stalls, the barn, and property. Our tractor needs fixing and the spigot for the wash stall also needs repair.

More Info

The bulk of the money for this campaign will be used to fill the hay loft for one year. Horses needs an average of 1-2% their bodyweight in forage each day. This amounts to almost 1 bale per horse, per day. Bales of hay can run anywhere from $9 a bale to $40 or more! at $9 per bale we need $66,000 to feed 20 horses for one year. I need at least 6 months with a horse to train it and evaluate it for a suitable forever home. We do not want any of our animals to become auction or slaughterbound. The rest of the funds will be used for fence repair, building of new paddocks so that we may fertilize, seed, and rest others. It will also be used for the spaying/neutering of resident cats and last but not least; repair our tractor. It is impossible to run a farm of this size without a tractor! If we had the tractor running we could maintain our landscape, level the driveway, drag the fields, and dig new holes for fence posts. 85k is just touching the surface of the expenses involved here but I am hoping to make the land more useful, reduce our herd thoughtfully, and create a one-of-a-kind boarding and training center that runs efficiently and provides high quality natural horse care.

Update #1

My intentions are to resurrect this farm and it's inhabitants to their natural beauty, cut down the herd by finding salable horses good homes, and create a one-of-a-kind equine program within it. Please help! You can help by making a small donation.. This budget allows for us to fill the hay loft for for one year, build additional paddocks, fertilize and seed paddocks, repair the tractor (which we need very much!), fix fences, and do general repairs.
