Life for little Ibrahima is unbearable in Senegal. My friend, Noelle, is an Italian piano player who lives in Dakar and plays at local hotels for tourists.
The reality is that his neighbors, Ibrahima, and his family, live without much light. Ibrahima, who is almost 2, does not eat enough fruits, they are very expensive there. Ibrahima often wanders around his grim apartment building's hallways diaperless because his family cannot afford diapers. Yet he's scolded for peeing everywhere by his neighbors and even his siblings. Mauricio does what we can. Visiting Ibrahima, bringing him fresh fruit, a real luxury, and engaging him in French. It breaks my heart to see a child go without. His mother does what she can. His siblings are trying to get through school. His father is mostly absent. (Like many Senegalese, he has another wife and family)Please consider making a small donation to help Ibrahima.
