Let’s Get Kiki a Car!

From Luke Hirst

Our beloved Kiki has been without a car for most of this year, and we'd love to help ease some of the stress she's been under by helping her fund a replacement!

Can you pitch in to help Kiki get a new (used) car? For the past year, Kiki has had more than her fair share of car drama—breaking down on the highway multiple times and having to wait hours in the cold for a tow, four engines (yes, four!) in less than a year, and living through the majority of this pandemic so far without transportation because her 18-year-old car was in the shop far more often than it was drivable.

Kiki is an energy worker and spiritual coach as well as a pet-sitter and due to the pandemic, there has been an immense drop off in her businesses so finances have been really challenging. She is also immunocompromised, which means it’s particularly unsafe for her to take public transportation or an Uber. That has left her stuck at home even more than usual this past year, which has been impacting her mental health.

A beloved friend who has spent a lot of time in Mongolia told her that if she were living there, the community would simply take care of her needs, just as she takes care of theirs. So that gave us an idea—let’s live into the magic of what we know our community can be and get Kiki a car!

She does so much free and heavily discounted work for our communities, in addition to doing work on the collective! Maybe you’ve also had the blessing of receiving food she made or experienced her love for the community by being in one of the many spaces she has helped to create and hold, such as the Winter Solstice events with The Clearing, the Fat Chats, Day of Mourning observations at the LGBTQ Center, community healing circles, queer kink groups, and more!

Now’s our opportunity to send some of that energy back to her! Will you join us today and ask some others to do the same?

(Note: The amount we chose is an estimate based on an online listing of a 2017 Honda Fit with just under ~100,000 miles on it, but Kiki is happy to receive any leads you have on quality used cars!)

p.s. Kiki has so many talents and strengths, and asking for help is not one of them. :-) So this page was set up by some of her loved ones, but know that she has given full consent and the funds go directly into her bank account! xo Luke
