Tonight my sweet Leo kitty went into kidney failure and crossed the Rainbow Bridge. My family is out of work due to Covid and cannot afford the final bill of $540. Please help us with this last bill for our sweet boy.
We adopted Leo, an older gentleman, from a rescue group earlier this year. He has only in the past few weeks started to become snuggly and lay near us. We were so happy that he was finally becoming comfortable with me and the kiddos.
This evening, Leo began vomiting blood so we rushed him to the ER Vet across town. Due to social distancing we had to let the vet take him in alone and run tests. His temperature was 94, which is extremely low for a cat, and his blood pressure was also very low. After a running tests on his kidneys, the vet found that he was in extreme renal failure and there was nothing they could do for him except offer mercy for his suffering. We didn't get a chance to say goodbye or hold him because of the current policies and the need for him to be out of pain as soon as possible.
We are grieving tonight but also trying to figure out how to cover the cost of this bill since none of us are working right now with Covid running rampant across MA. Our change jar for saving for fun things has maybe $40 in it and we are going to cash that in at the machine tomorrow to try to show good faith with the vet that we will get the bill paid eventually. Please help if you can with this final bill for our sweet Leo boy.
