Update #8

Friends, thank you to everyone who so generously supported Leo during his campaign for budgies. He finished his 100 miles yesterday, and is so proud to donate more than $700 to Northeast Avian Rescue. The challenge was a big motivator for him and has unquestionably helped his outlook during this time—and I so appreciate you all making this a success for him!

More Info

Hello! I miss my friends and would like to get some games to play with them online. I would also like to support Northeast Avian Rescue, a 501(c)(3) parrot and exotic bird shelter that helps hundreds of birds every year find homes and shelter.

I am asking for sponsors to support me as I aim to ride 100 miles on my One Wheel over the course of seven days, from Sunday April 19th to Sunday April 26th. I will log my miles throughout the week and ride rain or shine to get to 100 miles by Sunday the 26th.

If you donate $50, that is $.50/mile and I will send you a T-shirt that I designed (see below). This is a photo of my bird Kiwi on a One Wheel. (The hat is a joke and says "Thug Life.") My mom will email you to find out what T-shirt size and color you would like.

Thank you so much! Your contribution will give me great purpose during this time and will mean a lot to Northeast Avian Rescue and all the birds there who need care.

Update #7

Leo rode another 14 miles tonight, and it was the most beautiful ride yet. I thought we'd be squeezing it in between showers and maybe we'd even get rained on,, but the sun came out for the most lovely evening ride! Tomorrow will be an epic day covering the final 22 miles. Thanks to everyone for supporting him!

Update #6

Leo rode 14 more miles today, leaving 36 to go. If it rains all day tomorrow, his plan is to ride 14 more miles on Friday and a record 22 miles on Saturday. The challenge has definitely been giving him some much-needed purpose and we so appreciate your support!

Update #5

So proud of this little guy for continuing his challenge today to ride 100 miles on his One Wheel in 7 days. He had a little setback with his fall last week and was worried about his wrist as he went out today,, but he's now back on track and halfway there. Thank you so much again to all of you for your support!

Update #4

Hi Friends! Leo still has a lot of pain in his wrist with any movement or pressure. We hope you will understand if we let it heal a few more days. We believe he will be ready to resume riding on Tuesday.. He has 64 miles to go and is as committed as ever. Please let us know if you would like to withdraw your support, but otherwise, thank you for understanding! We will update again starting on Tuesday!

Update #3

Hi, Friends! Yesterday, Day 3, Leo rode 8 miles and then had a crash. Thankfully he is okay, but nursed a sore wrist today. He wants everyone to know he'll be back in business tomorrow with some miles to catch up!

Update #2

Another thank you to all of you who have supported Leo thus far in his "Leo Rides for Budgies" fundraiser. He rode another 14 miles today to keep him on track for 100 miles by Sunday.

It has been so heartwarming to see people reaching out to support him. Please know how much this means to him and to me. He is not the most confident kid, nor someone who inherently thinks he is going to succeed at any given thing. You are all helping show him that he can. Thank you.
