Hi meet Layla, who is now 16 months old. A friend of ours had to give her up for personal reasons and we accepted her as part of our family right before Christmas 2022 to give her a better home. We noticed in March her breathing was off and took her to our local Vet. The vet informed us after performing X-Rays that they couldn’t believe she was alive, that there was so much fluid around her lungs. We were sent down to LeadER in Cooper City. Layla was placed into an oxgen box since she was having hard time breathing. Our Vet also said she belive Layla could have a Heart Murmur. Once the ER looked at Layla they brought me a $6,000.00 bill! No way could I pay this. I paid out about $2,300.00 between the ER and our vet.

The ER had to keep Layla in an oxygen box because she was having a hard time breathing. The ER was able to tab her side and drain the fluids from her inside; then send those fluids out to be tested. We got the test results back and it came back that is Chyloys Effusions, which we are being told with every other test they will come up fine, but the main cause of this is usually some kind of heart issue or heart disease. We were told to save up and get her to see a cardiologist to get an echocardiogram.

Well we were just about to call in to make an appt with a cardiologist; when we noticed her breathing was way off again. We brought her into the Vet who did new X-Rays. We are told the fluids are back!! We are being told we need to take her to the ER again, and have the fluids tapped out and have her see an onsite cardiologist to get the echocardiogram done in order to see what is going on and if the two are connected. We are also told and already aware that this is going to cost us at least $6,000.00.

I have made calls into some other clinics but nowhere is able to do the tapping. We cannot pay out this money, looking for anyone who can help! Anyone that maybe knows a VET who can help! Layla has become very attached to our family and us likewise to her. Layla has become our baby; and we have only had her for 5 months!

Please if anyone has any information on anyone that can help. Or is willing to help with funds it will be greatly appreciated!!!

Layla has become a part of the Kashou household and we want to continue to love and spoil her for much more years to come.
