Greetings,

My name is Lauren Lanese Johns.  I am the seventeen year old daughter of the Late Larry Johns, Jr. and Charla Varnado Johns of McComb, MS. My grandparents are Larry, Sr. and Rose Johns of McComb, MS  and the Late Charles N. Varnado and Edna Varnado of McComb, MS. I am a 2017-18 Debutante of the Dazzlers Club.  I am writing this letter to solicit ads in pursuit of being the queen.  As a debutante, I am positioned to further learn how to present myself to become a vibrant young lady and successful member of society.

I attend McComb High School where I am a Senior. I am a member of the marching band, softball team, the Superintendent’s Advisory Committee, the National History Day Club, and the Technical Student Association (TSA).  Subjects that I love in school are Science (Biology), Digital Media, and Graphic Design.

In the community , I am a member of Bethel A. M. E. Church where I participate in choir and the young peoples division.  To help further mold me as a young leader, I participate in the Pike County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Delta G.E.M.S. program and the Phi Mu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority, Inc. A.S.C.E.N.D. program.  Another group close to my heart is the J. J. White Girl Scouts, where I am a senior girl scout who has achieved her, bronze, silver, and gold awards.  During the past seven summers,  I have volunteered and worked as a counselor at Camp Sunshine, a camp for special needs adults and children.   In my spare time, I show my passion for helping others and animals by volunteering at the McComb Animal Shelter and the P.A.L. Animal Shelter.  Other organizations that I have been a part of include, Dance, MHS Archery Team, MHS Volleyball Team, Freeman Scholars, the Young People’s Project of McComb, the Brenda Travis Foundation.

As you can see, I have a love for community service and would really appreciate your help in my endeavor of becoming the debutante queen for 2018-19.  Proceeds from my fundraising will be given to me as a scholarship.  Ad amounts are $12.50 for a business card, $25.00 for ¼ of a page, $50.00 for ½ half page and $100.00 for a whole page.  All amounts are welcomed and appreciated.  Checks can be made out to me or my mother Charla Johns (601-248-6077) or at cj39648@gmail.com.  I am a firm believer that every little bit helps and that everyone can help each other in their own special way. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me or my mother at the numbers listed above.   I thank you advance for your help in this endeavor.
