About North Central University:
North Central University is a private, Christian university located in the heart of downtown Minneapolis, MN. Offering undergraduate degrees, online degrees, and a graduate degree, North Central will prepare me with the skills I need for my career and ministry.
About Lada:
Lada Xiong is from Madison, Wisconsin. She is from a family of five. She has a sister named Alis, who is ten and a brother named Hunter, who is nine. She, her mom, and along with her siblings, attend Hmong Victory Assembly of God. “Being the oldest and soon to be, a first generation college student definitely has the pressure to set the bar high. Having responsibilities in being a role model for my younger siblings, to now applying for a future college, is a blessing.”
Her Walk with God:
Lada accepted Christ, August 16th, 2017. She was able to do this with amazing leaders from an annual Youth Camp, whom some attended North Central University and introduced her to the college. Even though she had accepted Christ, she still went through struggles. Being 16 she had to teach herself life lessons. Her school became a toxic environment. She was surrounded with the wrong crowd all the time which led to temptations after another. During a Youth Camp in 2018, she had a breakthrough. She was able to sacrifice old habits and leave the toxic environment. She has always strived to have a good group of friends to fellowship with. “Being at North Central will give me the community I always desired, and help me grow deeper in my relationship with God. I am taking a leap of faith because I know God will provide. With the help of these funds, it will lessen my cost and help me be more comfortable in college. I want to set the example for my younger siblings, and prove to myself I am capable of anything. In all of this, trusting God.”
