The mission of “Kurdish Photo Gallery” is simple. There is a small group of Kurdish teenagers living in a refugee camp in Erbil, a northern province of Iraq (Kurdistan). This area is politically supported by the United States and has been peaceful for over 20 years. These kids are lacking formal education and structured activities. We are a group of four Americans seeking to help in a small yet impactful way. We thought the best way to help them express themselves through photography and music. In our group, we will be bringing a professional DJ and a photographer. We plan to implement to teach them and equip them with the basic equipment so that they express themselves. We will display their work in a living gallery. We have a contact that is living in the area who is a Reuters photographer. He is our liaison to the teenagers. 100% of all contributions will be used to purchase the equipment. We are using our personal funds for travel, lodging, and other expenses. Please help us in our journey to raise the necessary amount to fulfill our mission.
