This month marks my 25th ordination anniversary!  What a long, strange, tender, beautiful and challenging trip it's been.  Thank you for being a part of it--such an essential part of it. I love you and I thank God for you.

I first heard-felt-sensed God’s call into ministry as a kid at Warrenton 1st UMC—that was a long time ago.  God has been so faithful—God is always faithful.  I spent 11 years in the United Methodist Church and the past 14 serving in the United Church of Christ.  All of it has been a privilege—even the hard parts, and I celebrate and treasure all of it.

I’m inviting you to join with me in the celebration if you feel so led.  I’m hoping to raise $2,500 for our Justice & Support ministries at Kirkwood United Church of Christ.

1. $2000. Will go directly to KUCC’s Racial Justice & Healing ministry, helping to fund two specific ministries that teach anti-racism, racial equity and justice.

a. Table Talks offer our KUCC and the larger community opportunities to talk honestly about the reality of racism in our country, and the internalized racism that we carry as individuals.  We have guest speakers, a time of sharing and prayer together.

b. KUCC YOUTH Justice Journey to Alabama (summer 2021,) visiting Birmingham, Selma and the Legacy Museum, National Memorial for Peace and Justice, and the Peace and Justice Memorial Center in Montgomery.

2. $500 will go to expand our support of new church starts in the state of Georgia.

I realize that this is a big ask, as we are all concerned about our country’s economy and our personal finances.  Please know that your prayers are gifts—tremendous gifts.

Please join me in praying for our country, for liberty and justice and freedom for ALL people and especially our siblings of color. Please join me in praying for the church to be a LIGHT burning bright for racial equity and healing.  Please pray for me.  I am praying for you.

I love you, I thank God for you and I look forward to another 25 years of worshiping, loving and serving God together!
