Last year was the first year of the Kids that Give Campaign and it was a tremendous success. We more than doubled our fundraising goal, allowing us to buy so many kids for children in the hospital. This year, we hope to buy even more toys for kids in need.
We came up with the idea to donate toys to kids in the hospital because of Simone's journey during her first year of life. Simone spent a lot of time in the Hospital when she was a little kid because she had trouble breathing and eating. Eventually, Simone came home but many of the kids stayed and some have been there for years.
I have so much. I have toys, food, friends and my health. I am eating and breathing just fine. I am happy. I want other kids to be happy too. So I decided that I can spread some holiday cheer by giving other kids toys.
My brother helped me come up with the cause, Kids That Give Back. I am going to give one toy from my Christmas list to sick kids, but I also want to give the kids lots of other toys too. That’s where you guys come in. I want to raise $1000, which I’ll use to buy toys to give to children at Children’s National Hospital and Hospital for Sick Children.
I am asking you to consider donating $30 to help me reach my goal. I promise to use every last cent to purchase toys and books for kids at these hospitals. Sample things I plan to purchase are games, coloring books, crayons, dolls, action figures, toy cars, playing cards, and puzzles. With $1000, I can buy 100+ toys and books for kids in need.
The Kids that Give Back campaign will end on December 18th. My parents promise to take pictures of us shopping for toys and pictures of me and my brothers making the donations to the Hospitals.
I really hope you will support this cause. Check out the pictures and my video too.
It is the season for giving.
Thanks for your support.
