I am raising money to start my business and share my all Natural Lemonaid with the world to promote health and decrease childhood obesity. All donations will help me to buy the supplies I need to start my business.
The consumption of sugar sweetened beverages have been directly linked to the rise of obesity in children and adolescents. Sodas and fruit juices are a part of most children’s diets daily. They both contain high amounts of high-fructose corn syrup. Some sodas contain caffeine which is a diuretic that can cause dehydration forcing you to drink more and consume more calories. A 16 oz. fruit juice contains around 160 calories. A 16 oz. Coke contains around 182 calories. These beverages offer little to no nutrition and consuming them along with high calorie foods with little exercise is a recipe for obesity. Since the pandemic the number of children suffering from juvenile diabetes increased 57%.
To improve this situation, I have created a beverage called ‘Skylar’s Lemonaid’ that is delicious, nutritious, and low in calories. My goal is to help children as well as adults reduce the amount of sugar sweetened beverages that they consume on a daily basis and replace them with something that is a lot more healthy for their bodies, that can potentially help them lose weight. I also plan to increase awareness about the importance of health for both children and adults.
My name is Skylar and I am 10 years years old. I enjoy going to church, designing fashion, and making my ‘Lemonaid’. I am so excited about encouraging people to be more healthy and your donations will help me to do that. All of the donations that I receive will go towards buying the supplies that I need to start my business and create my product including: the ‘Lemonaid’ ingredients, packaging, branding, and marketing. By creating my business, I also hope to inspire other kids to become entrepreneurs and start a business with something that they are passionate about. My vision is to help people live long, happy, and healthy lives and I thank you in advance for being a part of that vision.
