Captivation Dance is raising money to studio renovations following a challenging year. The studio had a sudden change in ownership, decline in student population, and relocated to a new space.
My name is Emily Schumacher and I am the Artistic Director of Captivation Dance in Morton, IL. Captivation Dance is a dance studio striving for strong technical dance training for every dancer, regardless of age or ability. We boast a strong staff of qualified dance instructors and a structured dance curriculum for every style and level.
Captivation Dance has seen an extraordinary year. When COVID hit in the spring of 2020, the arts community was hit hard and the studio saw a near standstill. In August, the studio underwent a sudden change in ownership resulting in a loss of student population and location change. Even through all of that, we are proud of our commitment to remain a driving force for dance in our community. Our staff has made tremendous sacrifices to ensure our doors stay open in order to provide our community and dancers with a safe place to pursue dance.
So now we are asking for help. After the crazy year we have had, we are determined to stay an integral part of the Central Illinois dance community. In doing so, we will be undergoing renovations this summer to create a focused environment to foster growth for our dancers. Any donations made will go directly to our renovation budget.
Your donations ensure that our studio receives the following:
-Creation of a 3rd studio space
-Installation of dancer flooring and mirrors in the new space
-Creation of a wall in our 2nd studio to separate the classroom from the hallway/lobby
-Installation of wall-mounted ballet barres in all 3 spaces
-Creation of a student room for our competitive dancers during their long says at the studio
-Updated lobby area for a comfortable experience for our dance parents.
Any donations are greatly appreciated! Please share our fundraiser to reach more people. By participating in any capacity you are allowing dance dreams to come true for our staff and our dancers!
Can’t donate? Please share. Even a quick share on Facebook can help.
