KB's 30th Birthday Book Drive!

On July 21st, I turn 30. As I reflect back on my life up until now, there are a few themes: family. love. adventure. BOOKS. I always have a book. I'm always searching for the next best thing to read.

But that is not the case for everyone.

A lack of books is frightening. Studies show that access to books is the greatest barrier to education - in fact, not having enough books in the home is a better predictor of a child's educational success than the education, occupation, or social status of the child's parent. But, unfortunately, 44% of U.S. children live in low income homes with, in some neighborhoods, only 1 book for every 830 kids. This tipping point has profound implications for our children and our nation’s future.

Let's do something about this injustice - join me in getting books into the hands of kids to celebrate the start to my 30th year of loving to read!
