I'm raising money to help the production of McKinley's Spring Musical. The money will go towards Jazz shoes for the cast, Costume and Props, and any light/sound repair/upgrades. The arts are funded by donations only.
My name is Meghan Benton and I am a Parent Volunteer at McKinley School of the Arts. I am looking to raise $2500.00 to help pay for the spring musical production of ONCE ON THIS ISLAND JR. It is an enchanting musical fable that tells the story of forbidden love between people from two different worlds. Originally inspired by Hans Christian Anderson’s The Little Mermaid, the Broadway show transports the story to a Caribbean island where social prejudice divides the island. This production is open to K-8grade students and is solely funded on donations from the parents and the community. More often than not, the arts programs are the first to go when budgets get tight. At McKinley, we believe so passionately in the Arts, because we have seen time and time again, the benefit to our kids when they are allowed to express themselves through various forms of ART. They learn so much about the world around them and themselves, and our kids have never ceased to amaze audiences with the productions they put on. They are really something short of spectacular.
The saying goes, “It takes a village…” and we are reaching out to like-minded people, like you, in hopes to reach our goal. We would so appreciate any donation amount that would help our kids put on a fantastic show. Just a small donation can help us reach our goal.
Any donation over $100 will be granted space in our playbill, to advertise and will reach not just the audience that attends, but the community at large. Your donation will go toward jazz shoes for the cast, costumes, props, and some desperately needed lighting and sound repairs.
Thank you in advance for your generous contribution. You have no idea how much it means to our kids and me to have your support.
Thank you again!
