About Me

I'm pretty sure that I am insane for giving this marathon a go. But, how lucky am I for the opportunity?? I'm honored to give it a go and to raise money for The Wicked AUsome Project. "While the Wicked AUsome Project provides family-friendly events that are welcoming and supportive, it has always been a goal to have our own Recreation and Family Life Center. We're hoping that through our fundraising efforts, we get closer to making that a reality. We want to have a place where our AUsome friends can regularly attend and hang out at and where families can go to for support, encouragement and to feel empowered. Thank you for your support to help make this dream come true!" ~ Tanya Neff

More Info

Ever since we started the Wicked AUsome Project, it was a dream that I would get to run the Boston Marathon and raise money for our foundation.  2020 is the year.

I've run Boston twice and have raised money for Autism inspired by my son, Sheamus.  However, to run for a foundation that was inspired by our son and our journey with Autism and wanting to help and support families like ours is just, well....Wicked AUsome!

This race will not be easy because of these old runner's knees combined with a late start to training.  Finishing this marathon WILL happen because I'll be running this thing with 100% heart and inspiration from our son, our journey to this point and the journey ahead of us.

I first started running to help me process our son's Autism diagnosis.  It was my outlet where I could be alone with my thoughts and fears and work through them.  Running helped me in so many ways so it only seems fitting that I am running to raise money for Autism and now for a foundation that we started to help individuals with Autism, "Embrace their Autism" and understand just how AUsome they really are.

While the Wicked AUsome Project provides family-friendly events that are welcoming and supportive, it has always been a goal to have our own Recreation and Family Life Center.  We're hoping that through our fundraising efforts, we get closer to making that a reality.  We want to have a place where our AUsome friends can regularly attend and hang out at and where families can go to for support, encouragement and to feel empowered.  Thank you for your support to help make this dream come true!

Much love to you all.
