Costs involved with recovering from a major car crash in Albuquerque NM on 12/19/20, including hotel, rental car, fuel & other expenses plus travel from their home in IN to NM to visit John's kids who are in ICU there.
This is the photo of the SUV my niece Brandy Stoddard and her husband John rented to pick up his two kids in Phoenix and bring them to their home in Indiana for the Christmas holiday. They were stopped in a highway construction backup near Albuquerque NM on 12/19/20 when they were struck from behind by a semi truck. John suffered multiple broken ribs and hairline fractures of his spine and pelvis, as well as significant damage to one of his eyes. Brandy received stitches to her face and has cuts and bruises all over her body. His son Ian (13) and daughter Ava (14) are in pediatric ICU with broken bones and severe internal injuries, and his daughter is in a medically induced coma, showing limited responsiveness and movement of arms and legs when brought to consciousness. Both children have had multiple surgeries and it is unclear what more will need to be done or how long they will be hospitalized. Crowdfunding pages have been established to aid with their recovery. This campaign is designed to raise funds for Brandy & John's unplanned expenses, which include but are not limited to extended hotel, car rental, pet boarding and immediate costs due to their injuries and being unable to work, as well as current and future trips from IN>NM to visit Ava and Ian during their recovery.
