I’m raising money for the Jaylon Mckenzie Foundation. Donations will go towards providing the youth in our community with opportunities to be successful through our tutoring, mentoring, camps, and scholarship programs.
We received our first donation from the Lou Fusz Football Family. Your generous donation will help fund our various programs and events. Our team at the Jaylon McKenzie Foundation greatly appreciates your support.
Jaylon Mckenzie was an eighth football Phenom that lost his life in May of 2019 to senseless gun violence. Jaylon had attended his eighth grade dance the night of May 4th. Shortly after the dance, he went to hang out with friends where he attended an after prom party. Jaylon was caught in the cross fire of the senseless shooting and died as a result of his injury. Jaylon’s dream was to play collegiate football and then go on to play at a professional level and eventually be in position to give back to his community. Unfortunately, he not make it to live out his dreams. Not only was Jaylon an undeniable athlete but he was an even better person. He had a smile that will brighten up a room and change the energy of any situation immediately. Jaylon was a genuinely good kid and his personality was incomparable. Through this foundation we will keep Jaylon’s legacy, life, and dreams alive. He wanted so badly to become a professional football player or a fashion designer and make an impact on his community. Our mission is to promote, develop and provide youth of the Metro East communities with desire, inspiration, and opportunity to grow their skills, citizenship, discipline, teamwork, determination, and perseverance through mentoring programs, youth camps, and social support.
