In 2018 Jasmine defended herself against her long-time abuser and father of her kids. When he died as a result of the injury, Jasmine was charged with first degree murder, facing decades to life in prison. While in Cook County Jail, Jasmine miscarried as a result of her injuries. Thanks to the Chicago Community Bond Fund, Jasmine was released, but the state required she be electronically shackled (EM). Due to the heavily restrictive nature of EM, Jasmine struggled for full time employment and suffered the continued violence of separation from her kids. In order to regain custody, Jasmine must fight to rebuild all that was taken during her freedom fight, including housing. Please donate what you can to support Jasmine and her kids being truly and fully free.
