A group of friends are walking 26.36 miles in a bid to raise funds to provide respite for people like Janet.
Janet (seen above on pic 4) has been a foster carer for over 20 years, looking after children of all ages and backgrounds. Janet also has 4 children of her own who are now grown up and have left home.
Janet in the last week has been diagnosed with throat cancer and is set to start treatment in January 2021, this will include both Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy. Although Janet is one of the lucky people who has very supportive family and friends, she will require extra support in these difficult times.
Dialysis Network UK offers respite for people with any Chronic/Long-Term illness, their families and carers. We are also helping people through the pandemic with our "shopping for the vulnerable" campaign.
This group is hoping to raise £5000.00 with the view of sending Janet, her family and others in similar circumstances on a short break once treatment and the pandemic allows.
Trustee Nichola Hartley who is joining the group on their walk said "we are delighted to be supporting Janet and many others in similar circumstances, we wish the group all the best with their campaign hope they exceed their target"
