WWL-TV news anchor Eric Paulsen, theatrical icon "Uncle Wayne" Daigrepont, and jazz vocalist Debbie Davies, will all star in this year's Annual New Orleans and Region Benefit Production of “It’s a Wonderful Life”.
The show, presented by New Orleans non-profit organization The NOLA Voice Talent Foundation, has become etched into the calendar of annual New Orleans' “unmissables” as the Christmas season commences.
And this year's SIXTH annual production promises to be the best yet, as established New Orleans professionals join the cast, attracted by the show's new Director, Vatican Lokey, to help raise funds for New Orleans and region non-profits.
As with previous years' productions of "It's a Wonderful Life" by NOLA Voice Talent, this version is written by Los Angeles writer Tony Palermo with musical score by Jonathan Green, both of whom donate the use of their works for this annual production at no charge to support the New Orleans community and the region.
Launched in 2009, the annual production has raised around $10,000 from ticket sales and sponsorships, and these funds have been donated to Common Ground Relief, for greater New Orleans re-generation; to The Tipitina’s Foundation Instruments A Comin' program to increase youth participation in the Greater New Orleans area school music programs by providing new instruments; to the Crescent City Youth Theater; and to The NOLA Voice Talent Foundation to provide affordable opportunities for performers throughout Louisiana.
“This annual fundraiser has established a permanent niche in the entertainment scene in New Orleans and has provided significant support to the community in the region.
The production will be broadcast locally by WGSO-990am and worldwide via the internet, and this is the fourth year that NOLA Voice Talent will perform "It’s a Wonderful Life" at the modern Deutsches Haus showroom, situated off Airline Drive, Metairie, just a quarter-mile east of Causeway Boulevard, near the Hurwitz Mintz furniture store and just five minutes from the Tulane/Carrolton intersection with Airline Hwy in Mid-City.
“Deutsches Haus is a huge New Orleans institution which is working towards returning to within the city boundary," added Stephen James. “With its modern stylish showroom, situated within the New Orleans conurbation and with ample parking facilities, Deutsches Haus provides the ideal venue for such a prestigious production as "It’s a Wonderful Life". We are delighted also to support Deutsches Haus in their quest to return to their own purpose-built premises within New Orleans Parish in the near future.”
Show tickets are only $20, proceeds to area non-profit organizations in support of the Performing Arts.$10 to Deutsches Haus members - proceeds to funds for New Deutsches Haus in New Orleans
